Torchbearers who will be carrying the Olympic Flame as part of the London 2012 Relay in north Northumberland are getting ready for their moment in the spotlight.
Dressed in their Moment to Shine white outfits they will be pikced up in Alnwick before heading to Bamburgh and then back to the town for the last of today’s relay and the Olympic concert at the Pastures.
And for some a lack of runners means they will be doing more than one leg of the route.
In true triplejump-style Emma Pringle, from Alnwick, will be completing three legs, from the Alnwick Garden entrance on Denwick Lane to Clayport Street in the town.
She will hand over to James Carroll, from Stocksfield, who will take it along Fenkle Street to Narrowgate before Alnwick’s Lewis Denny carries it down the Peth and into the Pastures to light the Olympic cauldron.
