Tom's still on top after a final race decider

Tom Dryden, veteran and former national windsurfing champion, showed the youngsters how to do it at the second NEWS (North East Windsurfers) event of the season.

It was a close run thing, but Tom pipped Pip at the post, coming away with five firsts and three seconds, and making him overall winner.

Competitors were made up of Raceboard and Formula board sailors.

The wind was light on the Saturday, and much stronger and more gusty on the Sunday, making for varied and interesting conditions.

Ladyburn Lake is home to the Coquet Shorebase Trust, which has its main base on the Braid at Amble.
