An Alnwick convenience store will be closing its doors for three weeks for maintenance works.

The Victoria Road Co-op will be shut from Monday until the middle of November.

A spokeswoman said: “The Victoria Road Co-op in Alnwick will be temporarily closing its doors on Monday, October 30, until Saturday, November 18, in order for us to carry out essential maintenance works. We’re committed to ensuring that our customers have the best possible store experience and as part of this we will be investing in upgrading the interior of the store.

“We apologise to our customers for this temporary inconvenience and hope that they will be able to use our other nearby Co-op stores on Bondgate Within and Willowtree Industrial Estate in the meantime.”

She added that staff ‘will be repatriated at the other local stores for the duration of the works wherever possible’.
