Thousands of pounds have been raised for HospiceCare North Northumberland after the Armstrong family – who own Bamburgh Castle – adopted the cause as its charity of the year 2015.

It enabled the charity to run two major events at the attraction – summer music extravaganza The B Festival and a sponsored abseil down the Constable Tower.

The events raised more than £16,000, to support the delivery of Hospice at Home overnight care.
