Thieves steal clothing from vehicles in Northumberland

Police are appealing for witnesses after thieves broke into a number of vehicles on the Northumberland coast and stole various items of clothing.

The incidents happened yesterday between 5pm and 6.30pm. A car and a motorbike parked on the road in Druridge Bay were targeted, as was a car which was parked on Shore Road, in Cresswell.

Offenders smashed the windows on the two cars and stole a jacket and a pair of jeans. Thieves forced open a box on the motorbike and stole two motorbike jackets and a pair of glasses. The offenders then left the area unseen.

Police are appealing for witnesses and are also asking drivers to be vigilant and to report any suspicious behaviour in these areas. Neighbourhood officers are also carrying out extra patrols in the area.
