Police are appealing for information after a shoe-making tool was stolen in a Northumberland village.

Theives took the item from outside the Post Office at Newton-on-the-Moor sometime between midnight on Monday, February 2, and 8am on Monday, February 9

The tool is a cobbler’s last, which is a holding device used to fashion or repair shoes. It has three shoe stands in different sizes and is painted red.

The appeal comes during Northumbria Police’s Operation Soundwave, aimed at tackling opportunist thieves and burglars across the force.
