The attraction once again provided the stage for the Musical Roots celebration, which is a collaboration between The Garden and Music Partnership North.

Schools to take part included Barndale House, the first school at Embleton and the primary schools of Ellingham, Whittingham, Shilbottle, Branton, Hipsburn, Felton, St Michael’s, Swarland, St Paul’s and Swansfield Park.

The showcase gave the students the chance to perform the pieces of music they have been working on over the last 12 months.

During the lunch break, pupils from the Duchess’s Community High School performed.

The event was fun and relaxed and gave the students the chance to perform in beautiful surroundings.

It is hoped and encouraged that, following the year of music-making, the students will continue to learn to play an instrument or sing.
