The footpath crossing of the East Coast mainline at Belford Burn, used by the Northumberland Coast Path and St Oswald’s Way, will again be closed this weekend. The level crossing at Belford Station to the south will also be closed.

The crossings will be closed from 5am on Saturday (September 24) until 5.30am on Monday (September 26).

A diversion has been agreed by Northumberland County Council with local landowners and will be signed from the paths approaching the crossing and from the roadside at Belford Golf Course. The alternative route will also be waymarked for the duration of the closure.

A plan showing the closure and the alternative route can be downloaded here.
