Teenager Brian weighs up a massive loss

Brian Younger’s incredible achievement won him a place in the final 30 of Slimming World’s Young Slimmer of the Year.

He was nominated for the competition by fellow members of the Slimming World Wooler group and took part in the semi-finals in Derbyshire. He made the final eight.

Brian, who lives in Berwick, joined Slimming World in March last year.

He said: “When I was bigger, I always felt as though I didn’t fit in and that was really hard. Understanding my relationship with food has been a real eye opener and I’ve learned how to cook a bit. I’ve got so much more confidence now too and don’t feel like the odd one out anyone, which feels great.”

Brian used to tip the scales at 21st 3lbs. He now weighs 12st 4lbs.
