Suspended jail term for teen after assault

A Shilbottle teenager has been given a suspended prison sentence after an assault in Alnwick.

Ben Pattinson, 19, of Lee Avenue, pleaded guilty to the offence, which happened on Fenkle Street in November.

He appeared at Newcastle Crown Court last week and was given an 18-month prison sentence, suspended for 24 months.

Pattinson was also ordered to complete 280 hours of unpaid work over a period of two years and was given a three-month curfew.

He also has to pay £250 compensation.
