A camera has recorded traffic and pedestrian movements at the junctions between the Co-op and former Bank of Scotland.

Wooler Parish Council is still awaiting survey feedback from the county council.

Chairman Mark Mather had previously expressed concern that the camera’s location might not pick up all pedestrian movements in the area. However, he said: “We will see what comes back. Hopefully they have got what they need but, if not, they have said the camera will come back.”

Safety concerns have previously been raised about the existing situation where people have to cross several roads to get to the Co-op, situated in the former Wheatsheaf Hotel on Market Place.

The parish council was disappointed when it was not invited to a site meeting to discuss where the camera would go.
