In April, Morrisons launched the contest, receiving a large number of entries which are displayed in store by the end of the checkouts.

This week, Gazette photographer Jane Coltman and reporter Ben O’Connell, pictured with the store’s duty manager, Carolyn Gibson, chose Jake Scott’s entry as the winner.

The four-year-old’s mascot will be created to his design, with one going into the Alnwick store and the other going to Jake, while he has also earned £100-worth of equipment for his school – St Michael’s CofE First School.
