A Northumberland garden centre is sowing the seeds of fun and education, as it holds two horticulture-themed workshops for children.
Dobbies, in Ponteland, is staging the Little Seedlings Holiday Club during the school summer break.
The hour-long workshops will be packed with stimulating games and activities to help kids discover the wonders of their back garden.
Along with a parent or guardian, youngsters can learn fun facts and get creative with arts and crafts, all while making new friends.
This month, children can decorate colourful pebbles for the garden and design eye-catching twig pots. There will also be prizes up for grabs as the little ones play a game of Beach Bingo.
In August, budding gardeners will enjoy sowing salad crops with more chances for children to create and decorate as they make a mini kite to fly in the garden.
The workshops take place this Tuesday, and then on Tuesday, August 9. Both run from 10.30am to 11.30am.
A Dobbies spokeswoman said: “Keeping the kids entertained all summer long can be a challenge for parents so our Little Seedlings Holiday Club is the perfect solution.
“Not only will they love getting their fingers dirty, it’s also a great opportunity for parents or guardians to spend some quality time with their little ones.
“We’re expecting the workshops to be extremely popular and would encourage anyone interested to book well in advance.”
The Holiday Club will provide a taster of Dobbies very popular Little Seedlings monthly workshops.
Classes are free to join and are specifically aimed at youngsters aged between four and 11 years. Each club provides the chance to learn about the natural world.
