Students to perform in exciting concert

The King Edward VI (KEVI) School Music Department will be performing alongside ‘The Singers’, a highly regarded regional chamber choir, on Saturday, March 19 at St James’ Church.

The programme will include great choral masterpieces such as And The Glory of Lord and the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel’s Messiah, What Sweeter Music by John Rutter and Nobody Knows from Tippett’s A Child for Our Time.

The Singers Choir will be performing the beautiful Tibi Laus by Peter Philips and the enchanting Stars by Ēric Ešenwalds.

KEVI’s own chamber choir will be performing the lively Hark All Ye Lovely Saints by Thomas Weelkes.

The KEVI Community Orchestra will also be playing an attractive selection of pieces that will include John William’s film music from Jurassic Park, Mussorgsky’s Night on a Bare Mountain and Fantasia on Greensleeves by Vaughan Williams.

It will be conducted by Robin Forbes, Heather Harrison and Donald Halliday.

The event takes place at 7.30pm at the school.
