Store names hospice as Charity of the Year
The charity was previously selected in 2015, raising more than £10,000 from various in-store fund-raising activities.
Emma Arthur, from HospiceCare, said “This is a fantastic opportunity to do some fantastic local fund-raising for our clinical services.

“We have met the Sainsbury’s Good Place to Work Team to discuss ideas for fund-raising over the coming months.”
As part of the fund-raising efforts, the shop is running a mega raffle. First prize is a Sainsbury’s Christmas dinner hamper, worth £100, while the runner-up will win a £50 hamper, also donated by the store.
There are a further 28 prizes to be won, donated by various Alnwick businesses. Tickets, £2 each, are available to buy in-store and the draw will take place on Saturday.
HospiceCare volunteers will bag-pack this weekend and the Westfield Brass Quintet will perform on Sunday.
