Stepping aside after decades of service
Sergeant George James Spuhler, of the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers, has left the Army after 23 years of service.
The Amble man has served in Bosnia, Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as completing three tours of Northern Ireland.
He joined the regiment at Catterick Garrison, in North Yorkshire, prior to him serving overseas. His parents and family have said they are very proud of him.
