Step out for special fund-raising walk
A special fund-raising walk is being held this weekend and people are being encouraged to come along and take part.
The event is a five-mile circular walk, starting in Rothbury and heading towards Simonside.
It is being staged on Sunday and participants should meet in Rothbury’s Riverside car park at noon.

Hide AdThe event is in memory of two local farmers, Paul Aynsley and Ian Robson, and is in aid of Cancer Research UK and the Great North Air Ambulance Service.
The walk, which will offer some spectacular views, costs £20 to enter, with the money being split between the two charities. There will be a free barbecue after the hike.
Two pipers from Rothbury Highland Pipe Band will play during the event and dogs are allowed.
