Stalwart Mick retires
A well-known electrician has retired after working for the same company for four decades.
Alnwick-based Mick Athey has called it a day after 40 years with town firm, Keith Black Electrical Contractors.
Mick has been covering the Alnwick area all of that time and many businesses and people will have had him carry out work for them.
Business owner David Rushworth paid tribute to Mick, saying he has been a vital part of the team and will be a big miss, as he is a well-respected electrician with a fine reputation.
He added: “Mick will be a big miss, especially with all the local knowledge he has.”
Now retired, Mick can look forward to playing more golf and having plenty of free time to walk Peggy the dog.
