A new convenience shop has been launched in Alnwick – with a ‘genius’ way of sharing allergy advice with customers.
Christore’s, on Victoria Road, opened its doors earlier this month and stocks a range of items, from frozen food, batteries and nappies, to fresh sandwiches, alcohol and cards.
It also sells pick and mix and jarred sweets and owner Christine has come up with an imaginative way of letting people know of any potential allergy hazards.
She said: “I use coloured spots on the sweets to let people know about allergies, ie, a red spot means that it contains nuts. A lot of people have said that it is a genius system and the children really understand it.”
Christore’s is open seven days a week.
