People are being challenged to give up the comfort of their bed for the night in a bid to raise awareness of the problems faced by the homeless.
The Alnwick Garden Trust has teamed up with Newcastle-based homeless charity The People’s Kitchen to give people the chance to sleep out in theGarden on Friday, November 6.
It will also help raise much-needed funds for The People’s Kitchen – which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year – and ensure it can continue to offer shelter, food and friendship to those who are homeless and disadvantaged.
Those taking part will be served a typical People’s Kitchen evening meal.
There is a £25 registration fee for participants, who are encouraged to raise sponsorship, with proceeds split between The People’s Kitchen and The Alnwick Garden Trust.
