Singers to play and talk about work at songwriters' circle

Three musicians will perform in a songwriters' circle at a monthly gig next week.

Steve Daggett, Ema Lea and Simon Todd will perform at Rothbury Roots, in the Queen’s Head Hotel, on Thursday, February 22.

The idea of the songwriters’ circle is a popular format in venues around Tyneside, and these three singer/songwriters often play together.

They will be on stage together and will take turns at talking about and performing their songs.

Steve Daggett will be known to many from his current role in Lindisfarne, but he has a fine reputation as a solo artist.

Ema Lea is a cultural force in the Whitley Bay area, singing and performing regularly, but she is also a drummer and film-maker.

Simon Todd has performed at Rothbury Roots before and comes fresh from working on his new album with no less than Boo Hewerdine.

Doors open at 7.30pm, starts at 8pm. Tickets are £10.
