Two enterprising women are continuing their demo and dine venture despite a landslip closing the main road just yards from their business.
Lou Renwick, who owns Cragend Farm, near Rothbury, teamed up with local chef Mary Wilkins last year to provide a truly Northumbrian dining experience.
Mary, who is a well-established chef, has worked in establishments such as the Savoy, the Ritz and worked with Jean-Christophe Novelli in his Bistro W8 in London’s Notting Hill.
A landslip in 2012 closed the main road to Rothbury, but not letting this get in the way, Lou and Mary joined forces and started classes in May.
On Thursday, January 21, you can join them for a lunchtime demonstration of Burns night treats. Arrive at 9.45am for coffee and homemade biscuits, for a 10am start.
Similar events take place on January 30 and there will be a special Valentine’s Day demo on Saturday, February 13. Contact 01669 620518.
