HospiceCare North Northumberland has places available for the Great North Run, for anyone wanting to take part and raise much-needed funds for the charity.

The hospice, with centres in Alnwick and Berwick, has 50 spots up for grabs for the half-marathon, which takes place on Sunday, September 11.

Registration is £53 and the charity is asking for a minimum sponsorship of £295. That amount of sponsorship can provide 15 hours of Hospice at Home to someone in the community.

This service allows for the charity’s dedicated team of nurses and health-care assistants to care and support patients, carers and families in their own home, working in partnership with other health and social-care providers.
