The Chocolate Spa, in Alnwick, is supplying hand-made treats for the bedrooms at luxury hotel and wedding venue Newton Hall, as well as neighbouring gastropub The Joiner’s Arms.

The chocolates will vary depending on the season and Dawn Mitchell, owner of the Fenkle Street shop, is delighted to be supplying both venues with her highly-regarded products. She said: “We are very pleased. It is getting our chocolates out there.

“We will vary them through the year, depending on the season. At the moment, there is a dark chocolate with cherry filling and a milk chocolate with Champagne filling, but we might go for strawberry in the summer or apple in the autumn. We will change it around a bit for the guests.”

John Parker, general manager at Newton Hall and The Joiner’s – which are both based at Newton-by-the-Sea – described the partnership as the perfect match.

He said: “We at Newton Hall and The Joiner’s are always looking to be that bit different and to stand out and to make each experience memorable for our guests.

“As part of this, we wanted to put a hand-made, personalised box of chocolates in each of our rooms and the Chocolate Spa was the perfect match. Dawn is passionate about her product and the chocolates are beautiful. It is nice when two local businesses can work together – it helps fly the Keep It Local banner.”
