Shilbottle turned in a poor performance on this visit to Tyneside as their lowly opponents produced a shock victory at Hebburn Sporting Club.

The game was fairly even early on, but the Colliers began to get on top as the half progressed. Ross Moore had an effort that cleared the bar, then Josh Hay had a near post header that struck the post, before Liam Brooks shot just wide as the half drew to a close.

The interval arrived without a goal but it seemed just a matter of time before the Colliers would open the scoring. However, the second half proved to be bitter disappointment as they failed to build on their early supremacy.

It was Hebburn who opened the scoring on the hour when Bede Finnigan forced the ball home following a goalmouth scramble when the Colliers failed to clear a left wing corner.

When the same player stuck a second ten minutes later it looked bleak for the Colliers. Hebburn continued to defend well and when Brad McClelland put a free header wide of the target 15 minutes from time the game was up for Shilbottle as they slipped to a surprise defeat.
