An application for 11 new homes to the north of Longframlington, which follows a similar, smaller scheme, has been lodged with the county council.

Mr JW Thompson, the owner of agricultural land adjacent to the A697, aims to build 11 detached properties on land north of Fairfields.

The houses would be of traditional design, with associated access, parking and ancillary space, and have been designed so that they can be easily split and offered to the market as individual self-build opportunities.

A planning statement explains that it follows the recent approval of an application for six detached dwellings next to the site.

‘Due to the acceptability of this scheme, we thought it appropriate to expand the scheme and develop more housing to the west of the site in order to create more market housing,’ it adds.
