Seasonal sparkle will light up the dark winter nights
The dark winter nights will come aglow with seasonal sparkle as switch-on events take place over the next couple of weeks. Here is a guide to some of the ceremonies.

Hide AdTomorrow: Entertainment in the Market Place from 6pm, including music from Alnwick Playhouse Concert Band and rides. From 6.15pm, children will decorate the tree. The switch-on is at 7pm. The Duchess of Northumberland will be joined by a child selected from the local schools to do the honours. There will also be a visit from Santa Claus.
ALNMOUTH
Saturday, December 3: The event takes place at 5pm.
AMBLE
Sunday: Santa Claus will be in the Seafood Centre from 4pm. Children can decorate the Christmas tree in the High Street garden from 4pm. Procession leaves The Wellwood at 5pm and parade down Queen Street to the Town Square, where there will be stalls and amusements from 12.30pm.
BAMBURGH
Saturday, November 26: Service at St Aidan’s Church at 5.30pm, followed by the official switch on at 6.15pm.
BEADNELL
Friday, December 2: 6pm, church service and carols at St Ebba’s. 6.30pm, switch-on at the Bullring. 7pm, social hour and free refreshments in WI Hall.
ROTHBURY

Hide AdSaturday, November 26: 4.30pm, Circus workshops with Circurama in the Parish Hall. From 5.30pm, gather at the Haugh car park with lanterns, followed by parade up Haw Hill to the Newcastle House Hotel for carols and switch-on at 6pm.
SEAHOUSES
Tonight: Carols on Main Street around the Christmas tree from 6pm and seasonal refreshments in the Pinnacles shop.
TOGSTON
Sunday, November 27: Christmas Fair at 5.30pm in Christ Church Hall followed by the Christmas tree lights switch-on at 6pm in the Church grounds.
WARKWORTH
Friday, November 25: Switch-on at 6pm at the Market Cross. There will be choir, visit from Santa and fair at St Lawrence’s.
WOOLER
Friday, December 2: Market Place, 6pm.
