Police are still searching for a missing man whose belongings were found two days ago by the side of Kielder Reservoir.
At 2.14pm on Friday, police received a call from a member of the public who had found a man’s clothing and belongings next to the reservoir. Police attended and carried out searches in the area to try and trace the owner, but they have been unable to do so.
Within the belongings was an ID and yesterday afternoon police launched an appeal to find the man or to speak to anyone who might have seen him in the area in recent days. At just after 2pm today, a spokesman for Northumbria Police said that the search was still ongoing to find the man, who is thought to be Kilian Wolfgang Ruthlein, who is 26 and from Darmstadt in Germany. Kilian is around 5ft 9ins tall and of medium build.
Officers believe he may have been in the area in the days leading up to Friday and are appealing for anyone who has seen Kilian, or who has any information as to his whereabouts, to contact police as soon as possible on 101 ext 69191.
