On March 19, Seahouses and District Rotary hosted a meal and entertainment at the Indian Brasserie in Seahouses to raise funds for End Polio Now.
This year’s president George Scott welcomed 43 guests and explained how the Rotary clubs in Group 1 of District 1030, had decided that this year they would work together to raise money for End Polio Now.
All money raised by Rotary is double match funded by the Bill Gates Foundation.
The aim is to eradicate polio in our lifetime. We are almost there as polio is only endemic in Pakistan and Afghanistan.
The Indian Brassiere has been very supportive of all our fund-raising and this is the second evening where they have provided the venue and an excellent meal.
After enjoying an excellent three-course meal, we were entertained by Heads on the Block from Berwick, who played traditional Northumbrian reels.
If you would like to attend one of our meetings we meet upstairs in the Old Ship on most Tuesdays at 7.30pm. Visitor are always welcome.
