BURNS’ SUPPER: Seahouses and District Rotary Club recently held a Burns’ Night dinner at the Olde Ship Hotel attended by 23 guests.
President Stuart Walton welcomed the gathering and gave the Loyal Toast.
Chris Turner gave the Selkirk Grace and this was followed by the piping in of the haggis by special guests Andrew and Margaret Watchorn. George Scott addressed the haggis and delivered the knife.
The excellent menu included cullin skink, tipsy laird and the haggis of course.
Roy Dodds gave the Immortal Memory in his own inimitable style. President Stuart toasted the lassies and Rosemary Ellis gave a well prepared and entertaining reply on behalf of the ladies.
Further entertainment consisting of the Bard’s poems and songs was provided by the Watchorns.
The raffle included some Scottish items and the evening closed with the hearty singing of Auld Lang Syne.
