1st Whittingham BP Scout Group hosted a full English breakfast in Whittingham Memorial Institute, with St Mary’s Catholic Church, then paraded to St Bartholomew’s Church to join the village’s Remembrance Sunday commemorations.
The Scouts took an active part, reading the Young Person’s Response from For the Fallen and In Flanders Fields.
The group laid their poppies at the memorial in an installation inspired by the poppies at Woodhorn.
The Beavers, Wolf Cubs, Scouts and Senior Scouts made the poppies and wrote prayers on them.
The group then paraded back to host a reception in Whittingham Memorial Institute for the congregation.
