A north Northumberland school was named the best in its category at this year’s LOVE Northumberland awards, organised by the county council.
Grange C of E First School in Widdrington was the winner of the first Northumberland Schools’ Recycling Green Points Challenge after pupils got involved in a wide range of ‘green’ activities, with a prize of £250.
And Wooler First School was the runner-up, taking a £100 prize.
Alnwick South First School was the runner-up in the Best Children’s Project category with its Get Alnwick Buzzing project.
Lowick in Bloom came second in the Best Coast or Countryside Project section while The Remembering Flodden Project - The Smallest Visitor Centre in the World was highly commended.
The awards were presented at an event at Alnwick Garden last week.
