SCHOOL: Stone's fate is still unknown

A few weeks ago, I wrote regarding the Insignia stone in the gable end of the now demolished Duchess's School.

To date no response has been forthcoming from any party attached to the demolition of the old school – council, councillors or the demolition firm.

A former colleague reminded me that the stone was actually hand-carved on-site from a single piece of rough stone by one stonemason.

Someone knows what happened to that Insignia stone, but it seems no one wants to comment.

They should be ashamed if it were destroyed.
