Zuzanna Smigielska, the oldest girl at Hugh Joicey First School, was crowned by the chairman of governors Carol Douglas after pupils paraded through the village in the traditional ceremony.

Following the crowning, maypole dancing took place behind the Lady Waterford Hall where all children showed off their dancing skills.
