In what is a fantastic achievement, the Northumberland salon, owned by Jane Atkin, came out on top against other businesses from across the county, as well as Cumbria and Scotland.

The news was announced recently, as Guinot held its biggest ever annual conference and awards in London. Celebrity Joanna Lumley presented the accolade to The Beauty Box.

Jane said: “It is absolutely wonderful to win and it is lovely to have some recognition. We have been stocking Guinot products for 40 years and we love them. I would like to thank Guinot for its support.”

Jane also paid tribute to her hard-working and dedicated team – Lucy Mallaburn, Janene Shaw and Kirstyn Crate – and thanked the salon’s loyal customer base.

She said: “It really is a team effort and we receive tremendous support from our customers.”

Jane is on the look out for a new apprentice. Anyone interested can apply at the salon.

Last week, in recognition of the victory, Guinot’s regional business development manager, Fiona Rachel, presented The Beauty Box with a special hamper from upmarket London-based department store Fortnum & Mason. Fiona said that the Alnwick salon had taken the prize because of its commitment, longevity and range of treatments.

Guinot has also announced that The Beauty Box will be one of the first salons in the North of England to offer its latest treatment, Hydraderm Cellular Energy, which is an anti-ageing technique to visibly rejuvenate the face. The machine will be available from May.
