A NORTH Northumberland church will be looking blooming marvellous this month when a flower festival takes place.
St Mary’s in Belford will be holding the event over the bank holiday weekend (May 28 to 30) thanks to the generous support of local businesses and organisations.
Based around the theme of local saints, each floral arrangement will reflect a link between the saint and sponsor.
The weekend begins with a concert at the church on Friday, May 27, with Village Voices performing at 7pm. Tickets cost £5 to include a glass of wine and cheese.
The church will be open for visitors to see the 20 floral arrangements on Saturday, Sunday and Monday from 10am to 3.30pm. Throughout the day coffee/lunch/tea will be served in the gallery and there will be a jewellery stall. Entry is by donation.
