Rusty rally cars take a castle break

A NORTH Northumberland castle will play host to a fleet of cheap cars on their way south on a 3,000-mile adventure through Europe.

The Rust 2 Rome rally, in which cars costing no more than £500 will travel from Edinburgh all the way to Rome, will stop off at Bamburgh Castle on Sunday, July 3.

On the day, the cars and crews will be parking up in the castle grounds for a lunch break during their charity trek.

From Bamburgh, the rally will make its way through England, France and Italy stopping at sights such as the Eiffel Tower and the Leaning Tower of Pisa following routes from famous films like The Italian Job, Casino Royale and Ronin.
