A wide range of groups and organisations are continuing to raise funds for this year’s Jam Jar Army beneficiary.

This year’s campaign is supporting Amble Lifeboat Fundraisers’ Shannon Lifeboat Appeal – and we’re not the only ones.

Ashington Hirst Running Club recently became a UK Athletics-affiliated club, and the first event that its members took part in was the annual Druridge Bay 10k, held in May.

This year’s chosen charity was the Shannon appeal, and club members decided to collect their weekly session fees and donate them to this worthy cause.

On Saturday, a cheque for £100 was presented to Eleanor Cassidy, of Amble Lifeboat Fundraisers, at Druridge Bay’s weekly park-run event.

Meanwhile, Circa, at Marks Bridge in Amble, is holding a fundraising day to support the cause on Sunday, July 19, from 10am.

There will be a photo booth supplied by local business Crazy-pix, as well as a raffle with donated prizes from crafters and sellers at Circa.

Staff tips and collections on the day will go to the appeal.
