Roy's gem of an idea
Flight Sergeant Roy Thomas has won a cash award under the Ministry of Defence's GEMS staff suggestion scheme.
He used his IT knowledge to create a new accounting system for the Sergeants’ Mess at RAF Boulmer, which has reduced maintenance costs and staff training times.
He also created a comprehensive desktop guide for future users.
Roy, who serves on the mess committee as a bar member, is pictured with Wing Commanding John Booth, Officer Commanding School of Aerospace Battle Management.
