Brooks Williams is ranked as one of the top 100 acoustic guitarists and as a singer-songwriter he writes groove-laden songs and delivers them with an easy-going vocal style and silky smooth guitar.

He will be performing at the Queen’s Head Hotel in Rothbury on Thursday, July 26.

Walking the line between blues and Americana, Brooks lives in Cambridge, but tours on both sides of the pond every year.

He has a new album for this tour called Lucky Star, which is a delightful collection of upbeat, foot-tapping and sing-along songs.

Brooks Williams got his start in the clubs and bars around New York and Boston, the same music scene that years earlier sparked the careers of Bonnie Raitt and Chris Smither. There, playing five to six nights a week, he developed his signature roots sound. From the very beginning and still to this day, audiences are often heard asking, how can one guitar and one voice sound like a full band?

His massive repertoire reads like a roots music Hall Of Fame.

He will be performing at Rothbury Roots with Tom O’Donnell.
Doors open at 7.30pm, music from 8pm. Tickets are £10.
