The Highways Agency is planning the following roadworks over the next week - Monday, February 9, to Sunday, February 15 - in Northumberland.
Alnwick: South Bridge refurbishment. Right lane closures north and southbound to install carriageway crossovers followed by a full closure southbound with all traffic running in contraflow on the northbound carriageway 24 hours a day. The A1068 below the bridge will operate under traffic signal control. The work will take place until August 2015.
Smeafield, Belford: Drainage works. Daytime traffic signals north and southbound between 8am and 6pm. Until early March.
Conundrum Farm to Scottish Border: Resurfacing work. Night time convoy working between 8pm and 6am, and day time lane closure between 6am and 8pm. Until February 19.
Haggerston: Horticultural work. Traffic signals will be in place between 8am and 5pm. February 9 and 10.
Tritlington to Earsdon: Technology work. Traffic signals north and southbound between 8pm and 6am. There will also be a 40mph speed limit in place 24 hours a day. The work will take place until February 20.
River Coquet to Warreners House: Lining work. Convoy working north and southbound between 8pm and 6am. From February 9 to 13.
Seaton Burn Interchange, Cramlington: Junction improvement work. Work to improve the interchange will be ongoing until the end of February. Phases of night time lane closures and some slip-road closures will be in place between 8pm and 6am. A 50mph speed restriction will be in place throughout the works.
A1 Kenton Bar to Seaton Burn: Bridge maintenance. Full closure northbound from February 9 to 20, and a full closure southbound February 23 to March 6. The work will take place between 8pm and 6am.
A1 North Brunton to Seaton Burn: Electrical works. Lane closure southbound between 8pm and 6am from February 9 to 13.
A1 Kenton Bar to Gosforth: Maintenance work. Lane closure north and southbound between 8pm and 6am. The work will take place today and tomorrow.
A1 Coalhouse to Swalwell Interchanges, Western Bypass: Major upgrading work. There are 24-hour narrow lanes and contraflow with 30mph and 40mph speed restrictions currently in place. There are also night-time lane closures in place north and southbound between 8pm and 6am. Further phases of carriageway closures, lane closures and contraflow will be ongoing until spring 2016. Additionally there will be a full closure north and southbound between Coalhouse Interchange and Lobley Hill between 8pm and 6am on February 14 and 15.
