ROADS: Condition is disgraceful

The state of British roads is disgraceful.

The sheer volume of ordinary traffic, plus the increasing number of very large and heavy lorries, is causing immense damage to road surfaces.

I think that the amount of revenue the Government gets from motorists should be sufficient to keep our roads to a very high standard.

As the number of potholes seems to be increasing, perhaps we could follow the example of Niederzimmern in Germany, and Krakow in Poland, and invite people to adopt a pothole for repair and implant a small plaque with the benefactor’s name.
