The closure is for Anson Court (U3124) from its junction with Lovaine Buildings for 84 metres in a westerly direction (towards Percy Court).

The order is to be effective from Monday, February 22, until Tuesday, May 31, but it is expected that the road will only be closed from the Monday to Thursday, February 25, between the hours of 8am and 4pm daily.

There is no alternative route for vehicular traffic, but access will be maintained for local residents.

The closure has been requested by Northumberland County Council in order to carry out carriageway and footway resurfacing works.

Inquiries should be made to Northumberland County Council’s contact centre on 0345 600 6400.

Elsewhere in the town, gasworks are ongoing on Bondgate Within and Narrowgate, which have led to the closure of the latter to traffic.
