The new-look Northumberland Hall in Alnwick has secured its first two wedding bookings.
The grade 1-listed building has been upgraded by Northumberland County Council to make it more attractive for community events. It has also been licensed for civil marriage ceremonies.
Coun Val Tyler, cabinet member for arts, leisure and culture, said: “When we carried out the work, we wanted to breathe new life into the hall and return it to the thriving community function room it once was. All the early signs are that this is going to be the case.
“We had a lot of people pop in on the open day to have a look around.
“The beauty of the hall is that it is so versatile and this was reflected in the interest we had from local residents who were looking to organise a whole range of events including coffee mornings, parties, anniversaries, ceilidhs and weddings.”
