Residents encouraged to get involved in shaping future

Wooler's neighbourhood plan, which will help affect development in the parish for the next 15 years, is beginning to take shape.

To develop the plan, an interim steering group has been formed by councillors and community representatives.

The group knows from the surveys that the people of Wooler care about the village’s future. Members also know there is a wealth of knowledge in the community and would really appreciate people contributing their thoughts and ideas to help develop the plan.

Feeding into the plan will be the views of people of all ages, circumstances and interests about how they would like Wooler to be in the future

A number of events and meetings are taking place and up first is a drop-in event on Monday, February 27, from 3.30pm to 6.30pm, in the Cheviot Centre, where residents can find out what neighbourhood planning is all about, to see what the people of Wooler have said so far, and to add their opinions.
