Rescuers called to aid of man in difficulty in sea at Beadnell
Coastguard rescue teams were called after reports of a man struggling in the sea at Beadnell Bay.
Seahouses, Howick and Holy Island Coastguard teams were alerted by Humber Coastguard after multiple 999 calls reporting that a male was in difficulty in the water.
While the Coastguard units were heading to the spot, he was helped from the water by a kite surfer.
Seahouses RNLI lifeboats were also called but were stood down before launching.
Coastguard officers provided medical assistance until an ambulance arrived.
