Rescue crews take part in training exercise to help 'stranded' walkers

Crews took part in the exercise on Tuesday, December 3 and were tasked to rescue two coastal walkers who had become cut off by the incoming tide at the bay.

In the scenario, one walker had fallen and suffered arm, head and leg injuries after scaling a cliff, while the second person called for help.

Coastguard units were called to the scene to assist the “casualties” while the RNLI carried out a shoreline search.

The people were then rescued by the crews, and received the appropriate medical attention for the mocked-up situation.

A debrief was then held at Seahouses Lifeboat Station.

In a post on Facebook, Seahouses Coastguard added: “Plenty of joined-up working, good exercise organised by Seahouses Coastguard and Seahouses RNLI staff, thanks folks.”
