Repairs to parking areas used by tourists
Parking areas to the north of Seahouses, which are used by visitors to access the beach and St Aidan's dunes, long the source of complaints, are set to be repaired.
A Northumberland County Council spokesman said: “The county council is very much aware of the condition of the highway verge between Seahouses and Bamburgh.
“These are not, and never have been, official lay-bys, but the damage has been caused by their use for informal parking over a period of time.
“However, with a view towards encouraging ongoing tourism in the area, it is proposed to make some much-needed repairs ahead of the 2017 summer season.”
