REMEMBRANCE: Sad end for a comrade

I did my basic army training with RJ Hughes, from Shilbottle, at Junior Tradesmen regt, Troon, in Scotland in 1964/65.

We mustered out at the same time, both being in the Artillery.

We went from winter in Scotland to very hot places, he to Aden and myself to Borneo.

He was killed a few months later, so sad.

But that’s how it was during those turbulent times when Great Britain was engaged in multiple conflicts all over the Far East and Middle East.
