REMEMBRANCE: Close shops to enhance peace

Remembrance Sunday 2018 falls on November 11 (Armistice Day), exactly 100 years since the guns of the First World War fell silent.

Hence, there is an overwhelming case for retail closure that day to enhance the peace and decorum of Remembrance Sunday and for more working people to get the chance to partake in the events in their communities.

Retail would also win as more goods would be brought prior to the one-day closure and on re-opening.

MPs and Peers would gain respect were they to rise above the daily political divides like Brexit and all come together to legislate for retail closure across the UK for Remembrance Sunday 2018.
